Well our tree is little this year. Sad. But we figured it was better to put the fake one away after our trip to Garmisch than to try to take down, or leave up a real one.
This really is the most wonderful time of the year. James did FHE last night on the meaning of the traditional things we use at Christmas ie, tree, star, lights and presents. It was fun for DeeDee to learn the reasons we use those things. She gets 3 presents from us for Christmas because of the gifts the 3 wisemen brought the Savior. She does get 1 from Santa and her stocking filled, which is plenty. We want our kids to not be focused not on getting gifts but rather giving and on the Savior. When James and I were growing up it was all about gifts. So, we have decided to change it for our own kids. DeeDee and I made a list of what we could give this year. It was so much more fun than writing the what I want list. I am sad to report that we haven't done anything we planned on doing because I have been so tired and Dad is not home. I know poor excuses. This is the last week before we go, so we are getting some of our service done, hopefully.
I to turn off all the lights in the house and stare at the Christmas tree lights. It brings me a sort of peace, as I sit there and reflect on my life the last year and on the life of our Savior. I think of the eternal light.
Merry Christmas everyone!! I hope your days are specail!
